About Us
Since opening its doors in 2004, the McGrath Academy of Irish Dance has made it our mission to teach excellence in technique and form. Our instructors go the extra mile in getting each student to reach their highest goals with patience, dedication and choreography that stands out.
McGrath Academy of Irish Dance, founded in the 1970s by Jeanne McGrath Pearson and reopened in 2004 by her daughter, Lauren McGrath Dutton. With performances at esteemed venues like the White House, Kennedy Center, and D.C.’s Wharf, and features on local TV stations, the academy has become a symbol of excellence in Northern Virginia and Maryland. Under Lauren’s guidance, students not only excel in performance but also in competitive solo, team, and drama categories, earning numerous World, National, and Regional championship titles. Join us and be part of the McGrath Academy, where you can create life-long friendships and learn that through passion and dedication you can achieve your goals.
