Since opening its doors in 2004, the McGrath Academy of Irish Dance has made it our mission to teach excellence in technique and form while promoting enjoyment of the cultural aspects of this unique dance tradition. At McGrath you will find a fun and friendly community that aspires, acts and achieves; developing the confidence in each dancer to help them reach their highest goals. History

McGrath Academy of Irish Dance was founded in the 1970’s by Lauren McGrath’s mother, Jeanne McGrath Pearson, a certified Irish dance teacher (TCRG). The Academy was reopened in 2004 by her daughter, and current owner, Lauren McGrath Dutton. With more than 100 students and 8 locations throughout Northern Virginia and Maryland, Lauren has grown her business and spread her expertise in Irish dance.
